FLOW AND GROW is a four-week program for people of all levels who wish to expand and deepen their yoga practice. Tapping into the mind-body connection, we establish breath as our anchor in both movement and meditation. Integrating yoga philosophy on and off the mat, we consider the impact of our practice and its ripple effect on our internal and external worlds. We explore foundational postures and balance, and the relationship of the polarities of rooting and rising, strengthening and softening.
In collaboration with Noire Girls Plant, we set intentions and observe how the process of caring and nurturing contributes to growth. Using our very own plant, we water roots, shine light and breathe warmth onto every leaf, and create an environment to flourish.

Week 1
PLANTING: Yoga Foundations & The Breath
In Week One, we plant the seeds of our practice by setting intentions and grounding through our breath. Plants, like us, need air - the breath is the energy and life force that flows in and around us. We observe the breath in stillness and foundational poses. Understand how to link breath to movement and see how it interplays in the flow of a sequence.
Week 2
WATERING: Nurturing Our Practice & Creating Balance
Yoga means to “unite” or “yolk.” We explore the balance of softening and strengthening, rooting and rising in postures. Using a visual point of focus in physical balancing poses like Tree, Dancer’s and Warrior 3. We nurture our plant and our practice with balance. We water, give light and create a balanced environment so that our practice and plant can grow.
Week 3
GROWTH: Opening & Expanding
The Heart Chakra is the centre of transformation and healing, and is also the centre point for opening the mind and body. In our physical practice, this translates to expanding the front body, particularly the chest, shoulders and hips.
Week 4
FLOURISH: Tension Release & Integration
We discuss common areas of tension, such as the shoulders, hips and back body. Increase mobility with thoughtful movements, restorative poses and the use of props. We integrate our learnings by connecting to the natural rhythm of our body and breath. Contemplate and meditate: how has your practice changed? What have you learned? What will you take with you? What will you leave behind?

ROOTED PLANT KIT
NOIRE GIRLS PLANT
The ROOTED plant kit was built to not only connect you with nature but to remind you to step back and be kinder to yourself. Healing is not an overnight thing, it takes time and consistency. It's a lifestyle. This kit allows you to slow down and really put intention into whatever it is you want to achieve. We discuss the innate connection between us and plants, write down our affirmations/goals and place it in the plant. Then we water our plant to ground the affirmation/goals we have just planted and allow the roots to spread. This plant is a reminder to take care of yourself and to be more patient with your own personal growth. You can't bear fruit without roots.
